Abstract signal art can suggest transmission, measurement, and distant communication without placing fake words across the image. A path can behave like a waveform. Repeated nodes can imply receivers. Changes in spacing can suggest acceleration, interference, or a message moving beyond the frame. These visual relationships carry meaning without pretending to be a readable language.
Decide what the signal is doing
A useful starting question is whether the signal is arriving, leaving, looping, breaking, or being translated. Each action creates a different composition. An arriving signal may concentrate toward one receiver, while a broadcast can expand through repeated rings or branching paths.
The action keeps the image from becoming a collection of interface fragments. Every mark can support the same event even when the viewer never learns what the signal contains.
Use intervals instead of letters
Short bars, dots, gaps, and repeated shapes can create rhythm without resembling a sentence. Narrow intervals feel compressed; wide gaps create pauses. A sequence that gradually changes can imply modulation or distance.

Check the signal at several scales
Tiny marks may disappear on a product card, while dense linework can become muddy in print. We confirm that the main route, receiver, and interruption remain visible before relying on smaller details. Close inspection should reward the viewer without changing fictional marks into unsupported facts.
